How to Use

Practical, step-by-step guidance for best results with our salves and teas.

Applying Salves (Hydrating & Soothing)

1) Clean & dry the area

Gently cleanse skin and pat completely dry. Clean skin helps the herbs and oils absorb evenly.

2) Use a pea-sized amount

Start small (about a pea). Our rich, slow-melt salves spread easily—add more only if needed.

3) Warm between fingers

Rub salve between fingertips for 2–3 seconds to soften the herbal oils before applying.

4) Massage in small circles

Apply with light pressure in tiny circles for 30–60 seconds until the sheen turns to a soft, non-greasy glow.

5) Reapply as needed

2–3× daily for dry spots (hands, elbows, heels) or as desired for comfort. A little goes a long way.

Pro tip

For very dry areas, apply after a warm shower while skin is slightly damp to lock in moisture.

Steeping Herbal Teas

Hot infusion (everyday cup)

Use 1 tsp loose herb per 8 oz water. Pour water just off the boil (~200°F), cover, and steep 5–10 min. Strain and enjoy.

Stronger brew (full-bodied)

1 Tbsp per 10–12 oz, steep 10–15 min covered. Great for robust, aromatic blends.

Cold infusion (smooth & gentle)

Add 1–2 Tbsp per quart cold water in a jar. Refrigerate 4–12 hours, then strain. Keeps 24–36 hours chilled.

Finish & enjoy

Sweeten to taste with honey or lemon (optional). Compost spent herbs when cool.

Water & cover: Herbal blends love water ~200°F (just off a rolling boil). Always cover while steeping to keep delicate aromatics in the cup.

Patch Test & Safety

Do a quick patch test

Apply a tiny amount to the inner forearm and wait 24 hours. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.

External use only

Avoid eyes and broken skin. Keep out of reach of children. If you’re pregnant, nursing, or have medical conditions, consult a professional before use.

Storage & Freshness

Keep cool & dry

Store salves tightly capped, away from direct sun and heat. Natural butters can soften above ~75°F—this won’t harm the product.

Best by

For peak freshness, use salves within 12–18 months, teas within 12 months. Always use clean, dry hands or a cosmetic spatula.
